There is a lot of interest in the role of and use of Community Health Workers (CHW) as federal and state opportunities for CHW servicing expands. Practice Transformation Institute (PTI) created a video titled PTI: The Community Health Worker Program Explained to spread an understanding of the role of CHWs. In the video, two seasoned educators, Ruth Clark and Ginny Hosbach, examine the roles that CHWs play, the training involved in their preparation and an overview of how CHWs can complement the practice of primary care. The video may be helpful in acquainting staff members with the important work of CHWs as team members working to support patients.
